Michael E. Cline, PhD. I am a demographer who has provided research and analyses for businesses, nonprofits and governments since the early 1990s. My work has primarily focused on helping others understand the implications of current and future demographic change for their organization’s core mission. Although my work has touched a variety of organizations, I have special interest and experience in understanding the impacts of demographic change for transportation; sports & leisure; and religious institutions. In my day-to-day job, I estimate municipal and county populations and prepare county population projections as the State Demographer of the State of North Carolina (see the Office of State Budget & Management for information on North Carolina demographics).  This website is a compilation of my professional work.
